Tired of searching for where in NJ you can find an affordable, nice apartment to rent, live in, and be merry?
We know. Despite NJ residents moving away in droves because of high living costs, it’s still such a hard thing to find. Though there’s hope yet! Some NJ cities still boast rental prices that are lower than or at the national average of $1,713 a month. There aren’t many left, but to help you find them, we put this short list together of the best places to rent an apartment in NJ that are still affordable.
How’d we do it? How do we know?
After decades of managing properties all over the tri-state area, we at Landau Property Management have the experience and knowledge to point you in the right direction.
We took industry research and combined it with our personal, hands-on experience, to put together this list of places to rent in NJ with all the concerns the majority of our clientele ask for.
Camden and
Cherry Hill share the first spot, being only 20 minutes from each other. In Camden, crime rates have gone down, and residents report feeling safer than they have in decades. With NJ’s coveted
education system, and incomparable views (it is the Garden State, after all), Camden is a great alcove to live in, enjoying the perks of New Jersey living, without having to pay the state’s median rental prices.
Also in Camden is one of our own buildings, the sweet Magnolia Apartments, located on Park Blvd in Camden, NJ. They have 1-2 bedrooms available, both starting in the $1,500 range.
Bear in mind, dear reader, that just because you’re renting cheaper than others, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be receiving comfortable accommodations.
Like with our Magnolia Apartments (now under new management), for example. Apartments are refreshed for every tenant, and amenities include, but are not limited to:
Don’t settle for less!
In Cherry Hil,l we have a building too. Called the Penn Garden Apartments, it’s located in zip code 08110;, the property offers 1 & 2- bedroom apartments starting at only $1,700! ($1,500 for the 1- bedroom apartments.) Located only 30 minutes from Philly, Penn Garden Apartments in Pennsauken / Cherry Hill has available apartments for the first time in a long time, so grab an application today.
The butt of many a Hollywood joke, Elizabeth, NJ, is looking like a pretty great place to rent right now. With great healthcare and only 30 minutes from NYC, Elizabeth is a hotspot for budding families.
Two
bedrooms in Elizabeth are at an average of only $1,373, and the walk score is a 77.
More suburban areas than the other two, Toms River is a great option for new families looking for affordable housing. Safe, bustling with new business opportunities, and touching the ocean, Toms River offers a greater variety of landscapes to choose from.
Ultimately, NJ’s high property taxes and high cost of living can’t be completely eliminated, but with these choices, at least you get to cut down on the biggest expense: a roof over your head, and still stay in glorious NJ.
